You can make a difference! The Education Independence Network is asking for your attention and urgent engagement in the policies below. The most pressing is TX SB2, which has left the Senate Education Committee and will soon be brought to the Senate floor for a debate and vote.
Why We Care
As passionate advocates for education independence, it is crucial to be involved in the legislative process and encourage our lawmakers to say “No” to bills that erode:
- Privately funded parent-directed education
- Parental autonomy
- Religious freedom
What Is Happening
At the time of this posting, Texas has several relevant education independence bills filed that would limit parental autonomy, use government funds for private entities, or otherwise not align with our core beliefs of independent education, private funding, parental autonomy, and a flourishing society. Your Texas legislators need to hear from you! Please call or email their offices at the contact information below as soon as possible and track these bills.

How To Respond
Sample Talking Points:
“Hello, my name is [name]. I am [calling/emailing] regarding [bill number]. As a homeschool parent, I value freedom from government strings and regulations in private education and am against the expansion of government in the name of “parental empowerment”, school choice, ESAs, or any other bill that would use public funds for private education. I would like to ask [Senator or Representative name] to please join a large constituency of homeschoolers in opposing “school choice” legislation like [bill number] and supporting education independence. Thank you!”
