Communism

A political and economic ideology seeking to create a classless society through the abolition of private property and the collective ownership of the means of production. Based largely on the writings of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, communism advocates for the distribution of goods according to need rather than contribution, and in its fully realized form envisions a society without government, social classes, or money. Historical attempts to implement communism have typically led to authoritarian, single-party states with centrally planned economies.
